Faculty and staff within the IIT community
who have an educational need for student academic information must abide by the following procedure, in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) for a request to be considered. Phone or email requests cannot be accepted.
If the information you are requesting does not include, or if the selection criteria are not dependent on non-directory academic student data, the Office of the Registrar is not the appropriate resource to provide the information.
Internal Data
Current course enrollment, student information
and label requests should be forwarded to the Office
of the Registrar.
Several pre-written data reports
can be found in the SIS - REPORT menu. Please view the reports available to you before submitting an information request. These reports may be run on demand as often as you like. For assistance using the REPORT menu please visit Snapper's
Guide to SIS or the OTS SIS web page.
If the information needed cannot be retrieved using a current SIS report, a request for information must be made in writing using the Information
Request Form and will take approximately 3–5 business days. Once the form is completed, you may fax it to x73313
or send it directly to the Registrar's Office, Main Building Room 104.

External Data Requests for Student Data
Public statistical information about IIT, such as enrollment, admission data, etc., can be found on the OIIR website at oiir.iit.edu.
Requests from the public for historical institutional data should be forwarded to the Office of Information and Institutional Research (OIIR).
